The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi has welcomed the outcome of the recent visit by the Iraqi Minister of Communications Mustafa Sanad to Tehran.
In a post on X social platform, he said the two neighboring
countries agreed to support the Iranian digital economy companies at the Iraqi market.
"In the past two days, at the #ELECOMP Exhibition and
the "One Thousand and Second Night" meeting, we reviewed Iran's
technological capacities and cooperation opportunities with Iraq in a
specialized manner.”
The Iranian and Iraqi ministers discussed fostering bilateral
relations including in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence during the
visit of the Iraqi official to Tehran on Monday and Tuesday.
Sanad took part in the ELECOMP Expo, held talks with Iranian
ICT Minister Hashemi, and met Iranian digital economy company stakeholders.
“With the support and positive outlook of Mr. Mustafa Sanad,
the respected Minister of Communications of Iraq, we can pave the way for
Iranian companies to enter the growing Iraqi market, a practical step to
transform the historical ties between the two countries,” read Hashemi’s post.
